Big Sis

Hello!  Happy Monday!
I have here my layout for Lets Get Sketchy's Feb week 3.  Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge...

and here is my take on it...

This is my daughter showing off her baby brother.  Mind you this photo was taken almost 20 years ago!  But I remember this moment like it was yesterday.  She was so excited and so proud about being a big sister!

For this layout I used Woodland Park by October Afternoon.  The honeycomb pieces are chipboard.  I first inked the outer edges and then cover them with the pattern paper.  The banner is made from the pennant tool punch by Epiphany Crafts topped with opaline pearls by Basic Grey.  For the finishing touches, I added a cluster of white flowers topped with diamond Stickles for the sparkle effect.  The centers are buttons made from the small button tool punch by Epiphany Crafts. I just love those epoxy punches!  I then gave my red cardstock some mist splatters, adding more opaline pearls.

Go check out Lets Get Sketchy now and join in!  Its just full of inspiration and ideas!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Indiana Beach

G'afternoon crafty friends!
Today I am showing off a layout I completed using Sketchabilities #84 sketch and also using some felt embellies that was influenced by Scrap It Girl February's challenge, which is using material of your choice.

Here is the sketch I followed...

and here is my take on it...

Here we are at Indiana Beach, which is an amusement park as well as a beach.  We are braving the log ride and as you can see we are holding on for dear life.  The ride actually felt more scarier than is looks!  Mind you, we had no idea we were being photographed until after the fact!  Haha!  Such fun memories!  It was a great day!

I used Splash by Echo Park.  I felt is was perfect for this layout.  The water splash swirls really topped it off.

I also added Puffies from Ki, as my summery embellishments.  I've had these for a long time and I just couldn't part with them.  I think they are so cute!  They're made of felt and have a soft stuffing making them 'puffy'  Adding the perfect summery touch that I was after!

I had alot of fun using this sketch!  So many possibilities!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

This makes me go AHHH

Happy Monday!  Wow!  Can you believe it's February already!  Where does the time go?  I hope your weekend was a good one!

We have a new sketch up at Let's Get Sketchy, its the first one for the new month.  Remember they post a new sketch every Monday and you have the full month to complete them.  Design two from the month for a chance to win some goodies!  Good luck!

Here is this week's sketch...

aand here is my DT take on it...

I've got to say, I'm addicted to pedicures in the summer time and my first one of the season always makes me go AHHH!!  I'm already looking forward to it!

As you can see I followed the sketch exact because I really liked it as is and I kept it pretty clean and simple.

I used Splash by Echo Park.  I just loved the bright summery colors.  I used a stitch runner by daisyd's on my edges to make it look sewn on, when it was actually like a rub on without the rubbing, just roll it.  I used bakers twine for my banner rope and added it to the tag hole as well.

I topped it off by adding a couple summery flowers and a bright butterfly that I had in my leftover stash.  Thats it!  Pretty simple but so cute!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Artic Beauty

Hello!  Hello!  Happy February to you!

I have here my layout for Get Creative.  Their February challenge is all about SNOWFLAKES!  Perfect for this time of year!

Here is my take on it...

This picture was taken in January 2010.  Its our local lighthouse on lake Michigan at the beach.  I think its gorgeous and shows just how snowy and frigid it gets here in NW Indiana.

I used Hot Chocolate by Fancy Pants.  Its an older collection but I still love it and I need to use it up.  The crystal swirls are by want 2 scrap and my layered snowflakes are from my leftover scrappy stash.  I love when everything just falls into place!

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend!
